About

Nemirovich Quarters is a residential complex in Novosibirsk that blends Northern Brutalism with Southern European architectural influences.

Located in the Kirovsky district on the left bank of the Ob River, the project features a unique architectural identity. Designed by Dutch studio DROM and APM Fefelov V.V., it redefines the urban landscape with its multi-layered composition.

The first phase consists of four buildings of varying scales, typologies, and façade structures. The volumes gradually step down toward Nemirovich-Danchenko Street, creating a dynamic yet cohesive ensemble that fosters spatial and visual connections. The project is designed to contribute to the revitalization of Novosibirsk’s left bank.

Challenge

Develop a brand positioning and visual system that attract broad attention while highlighting the project’s European approach to residential design.

Solution

Through in-depth interviews with DROM architects and the client, along with a thorough analysis of project materials, we crafted a strategic brand positioning that emphasizes architectural excellence and thoughtful urban development.

The identity conveys growth, openness, and a warm oasis within the city’s industrial landscape. The visual language draws inspiration from Spanish and Italian architecture, combining warm, natural tones with elements of monumentality and Brutalism.

This upward movement is echoed in the logo and typography, where massive letterforms are grounded at the bottom of the composition, visually striving upward.

Two core stylistic elements define the identity:

• The Renaissance arch, a perfect fusion of circle and square, representing timeless European elegance.

• Modularity, a reference to structured urban clusters, ensuring clarity and rhythm within the design.

The color palette takes inspiration from Italian artists Giorgio de Chirico and Giorgio Morandi, featuring warm, rich hues balanced with soft pastels. The signature brick tone reflects the stylobate, visually uniting the four buildings of the first phase.
